Growth through acquisitions puts demands on HR
Stena Metall, Scandinavia’s largest group within recycling and environmental services, continues to grow larger and stronger through its acquisition and expansion strategies. This of course increases demands on everyone in its organization, but perhaps especially on HR. So it’s quite a task that HR manager Annie Bøge Mikkelsen has taken on since she stepped forward to assume HR responsibility for the 450 employees in the Danish part of the group.


Get the basics right
“Traditionally, responsibility for employees has lied with their respective managers. But as we gradually absorb new companies into our family it’s become important for us to have unified rules and procedures across our various business areas. This is partially because the employees want consistency, and partly to make administration easier. The need to harmonize our HR policies is among the most important reasons why we created a central HR role. So I am in high-gear to collect and systemize information about our personnel,” says Annie Bøge Mikkelsen.
